THE RIGHT APPROACH TO MINISTRY IS COURAGE
Looking at Joshua 1:1-9, we are being
encouraged to be very courageous in other to fulfill our ministry, not just
being courageous but be very courageous so as to be able to fulfil those ideas
God has loaded in our lives to solve the problems in the world.
"Only
be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the
law which Moses my servant commanded you” (v. 7 NKJV)
Joshua was going to lead the Israelites into enemy occupied
Promise Land. God restated His faithfulness to Israel and to Joshua, and
commissioned him with these words: "Be strong and very courageous, for to
this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which / swore to their fathers
to give them" (v.6). However, strength and courage would depend on
Joshua's attitude to 'this book of the law.
"Be strong and of good courage," that is God's combat
instruction to you, which is necessary for victory. The nature of your
assignment and its hazards should compel you to draw strength from the Lord.
You must be determined to face the task, do not chicken away in fear. Be strong
and very courageous in the midst of attacks, criticism or disapprovals. Do not
be intimidated, for intimidation is a weapon of the enemy. Jesus had strong
oppositions but He was never intimidated. Timidly cannot be associated with
kingdom service. "For God has not given us a spirit of in timidity, but of
power and of Jove of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 1:7).The good news is that God
has promised to be with you (Matt. 28:20). Truly the presence of God
strengthens the heart and inspires courage. In this new day, be strong and very
courageous because God is with you.
Therefore, it is expected for you and I to fulfill the mandate of
God in our world today, we must be very courageous to carry out this divine assignments.
